Making gifts for my nephew has to be one of the hardest jobs as well him being at that age where he is also getting difficult to shop for.  Luckily for me, he is a big sports fan – football/soccer in particular.

This was a project from a few years ago when he started playing, I wanted him to have somewhere to hang his medals from proudly so I made him a medal board.

I can’t honestly tell you what kind of wood it was I used as a former colleague gave it to me as a scrap piece of wood.  All I did was print out a template of the black and white pieces and painted with acrylic paint – I think I did three coats, particularly of the white as wanted it to look strong.  And then I used a spray sealant to finish it off. Final piece was the hooks – bought in Wilko, measured it out and put them in – done!

What I didn’t think about was how much of a pain it would be to post to Canada!  Sometimes, just have to make these things.
